Falooda Recipe - How to Prepare?

In the summer heat, it is best to welcome your guests with something cool. A cool desert can also be served at the end of the meal. While thinking about any cool dish to serve, a lot of options come to the mind. Probably two most common items are soft drinks and ice-creams.  But if you wish for something new and something uncommon, that which someone do not think about generally, then you should try and make one of the many available options like a falooda.

Making a falooda is very easy and do not take much time also. You can make it in two ways, one if you have to serve immediately, other if you are planning on serving it later. But either way, this cool drink tastes awesome.

To make a glass of falooda, you need the following ingredients –
  • 2 cups of Milk (you may use skimmed milk)
  • Faluda Sev about a handful. You may also use general sev or any other thin pasta if you don’t get this.
  • Takmaria or Basil Seeds about ½ teaspoon
  • Sugar or any other sugar substitute
  •  Abiut 3 – 4 tablespoon Rose Syrup. In case you do not get it, you can make one by mixing Roohafza with small amount of rose water.
  • 2 scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Almond or Pistachios, coarsely ground, 1 tablespoon
  • Very little Cardamom Powder
To make the Falooda, you need to follow the following simple steps.
  • First soak takmaria in water for about an hour, until it swells up.
  • Then prepare the falooda sev as instructed. The general instruction is boiling the broken sev for about 3 minutes, by which time the sev gets prepared. And then drain the water and keep it aside.
  • Now boil the milk and after is has started boiling, turn off the flame and add the cardamom powder and sugar or sugar substitute to it.
Now, depending upon the amount of time you have you can follow either of the two processes.
Process 1 (for serving immediately):
  • Take a tall glass and add a few cubes of ice and then the cooked serve.
  • Then add the Rose Syrup and finally the milk.
  • Top it off with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream and crushed nuts.
Process 2 (for serving later):
  • Take the milk and add cooked sev and Rose Syrup.
  • After it cools down, add the takmaria seeds and leave it to chill.
  • Serve with ice-cream and nut toppings.
You can easily get the meal delivered home using food panda coupons or nirulas coupons and then finally serve the falooda at the end of the meal to attain a gourmet delight.
